1. 660nm 5W VCSEL COB Laser Array for High-Power Red-Light Source Integration
The 660nm 5W VCSEL COB laser array is a multi-emitter red-light source for high-power irradiation systems. It is supplied as a COB-packaged array for integration with the customer's driver, thermal management and secondary optics.
The released specification gives 3.75W minimum, 4.5W typical and 5W maximum optical output at an operating current of 3.0A and a typical operating voltage of 11.5V, under QCW conditions with a 0.5ms pulse width, a 1% duty cycle and a 25 °C test temperature. The array has a typical center wavelength of 660nm and a 15mm-class emitting aperture in a 17.22 × 17.22mm body.
Typical development directions include photobiomodulation (PBM) and high-power red-light irradiation systems, medical-aesthetic and professional skincare equipment, scalp and hair-care devices, joint-care phototherapy modules and OEM red-light modules.
The application descriptions above are system-integration directions only; they do not represent independent medical efficacy of this component. End-product safety and compliance must be verified by the system designer.

Lead Time: In-stock products are dispatched within 3 business days; custom-packaged products have a lead time of 15–20 days.
MOQ: The minimum order quantity is 1 reel; selected special models support small-batch orders.
2. Optical and Electrical Characteristics
The values below follow the released specification. Unless otherwise stated, testing is performed under QCW conditions with a 0.5ms pulse width, a 1% duty cycle and a 25 °C test temperature.
The 0.5ms pulse width and 1% duty cycle values are standard test conditions; they do not define the absolute maximum pulse width or duty cycle of the device.
Typical slope efficiency is derived from the released typical parameters: 4.5W ÷ (3.0A − 1.5A) = 3.0 W/A. Typical power conversion efficiency is calculated from the released typical parameters: 4.5W ÷ (3.0A × 11.5V) ≈ 13%.
Absolute maximum ratings: 10A forward DC current at Ta = 25 °C, 5V reverse voltage, operating temperature −40 °C to +50 °C, storage temperature −40 °C to +100 °C and 260 °C mounting temperature for a maximum of 10 seconds.
3. Application, Thermal and Integration Notes
High-Power Pulsed Operation
The array is specified under QCW drive. Drive electronics should provide controlled pulse timing, stable peak current at the 3.0A operating point and protection against overshoot.
Operation beyond the rated power, current or thermal conditions will accelerate device aging and may cause device failure. Contact 1ONELASER for engineering support when the project requires drive conditions outside the released specification.
Thermal Management
Adequate thermal management is required when operating this 5W-class VCSEL COB array. Depending on the system thermal load, a high-thermal-conductivity substrate, heat sink or active cooling may be used to control device temperature and prevent excessive junction temperature.
Higher ambient temperature may increase threshold current, reduce conversion efficiency and shift the center wavelength to longer wavelengths.
Optical and Mechanical Integration
The module integrates with secondary optics, diffusers and light-guide structures defined by the equipment design. The electrical polarity is Anode (+) / Cathode (−) as shown in the released outline drawing.
For applicable products, CE, EMC, EN 60825, LVD, RoHS, REACH and halogen-free certification and compliance documents are available. Documentation depends on the final model and configuration.

5. Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ 1. What are the specified operating conditions of the 660nm 5W VCSEL COB laser array?
The released specification gives 3.75W minimum, 4.5W typical and 5W maximum optical output at 3.0A and 11.5V typical, under QCW conditions with a 0.5ms pulse width, a 1% duty cycle and a 25 °C test temperature.
FAQ 2. How is the typical power conversion efficiency calculated?
The typical value follows the released parameter set: 4.5W ÷ (3.0A × 11.5V) ≈ 13%. The minimum value of the released window is 10%.
FAQ 3. What thermal management does the 5W-class array require?
The array must be mounted on a suitable thermal path with sufficient heat sinking. The released operating temperature range is −40 °C to +50 °C; higher ambient temperature increases threshold current, reduces conversion efficiency and accelerates aging.
